Suggestion for Toothache

Proper cleaning of the teeth is very essential to prevent tooth decay and consequent toothache. There are many theories on how best to clean the teeth. The consensus of dental opinion however seems to back using a circular motion with the brush, so as to ensure that all dental surfaces are cleaned. One should not be afraid to touch the gums with the brush, as this gentle stimulation improves the blood circulation in the gums.

Women who go braless may actually have the right idea, new research suggests.

Scientists say, bra can increase sagging and don’t alleviate back pain.

Countering everything we’ve ever been told about supporting the upper curves, a new study from France says we’ve got it all wrong. Wearing a bra does nothing to decrease back pain, and the support offered by a brassiere actually encourages the breasts to sag.

As reported in The Local, a 15-year study led by Jean-Denis Rouillon, from the University of Besançon in eastern France, found that “bras are a false necessity.”

“Medically, physiologically, anatomically — breasts gain no benefit from being denied gravity. On the contrary, they get saggier with a bra,” Rouillon, a sports science expert, told France Info radio.

In a job presumably envied by many, Rouillon spent a decade and a half measuring the changes in breasts of hundreds of women using a slide rule and caliper at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire in Besançon. The participants were all between the ages of 18 and 35.

Of the braless women, the researchers concluded that “on average their nipples lifted on average seven millimeters in one year in relation to the shoulders.”

Capucine Vercellotti, a 28-year-old woman who took part in the study hasn’t worn a bra for two years now, and doesn’t expect to go back.

“At first, I was a little reluctant to the idea of running without a bra, but I got started and after five minutes, I had no trouble at all,” Vercellotti said, according to the Agence France-Presse.

“There are multiple benefits: I breathe more easily, I carry myself better, and I have less back pain,” she told France Info.

But don’t throw away your bras just yet, ladies.

Despite the findings, Rouillon said it would be dangerous to advise all women to take off their bras based on the study’s sample, which may not be representative of the population.

Speaking to France Info, Rouillon cautioned women who have worn bras for a long time — several decades — from following the recommendation since they would not benefit from taking off their bras now.

What do you think of Rouillon’s bra study? Skeptical? Tell us your comments below.

Cancer is a group of many related diseases that begin in cells, the body’s basic unit of life. Normally, cells grow and divide to form new cells in an orderly way.

They perform their functions for a while, and then they die. Sometimes, however, cells do not die. Instead, they continue to divide and create new cells that the body does not need.

The extra cells form a mass of tissue, called a growth or tumor. There are two types of tumors: benign and malignant. Benign tumors are not cancer. They do not invade nearby tissue or spread to other parts of the body. Malignant tumors are cancer. Their growth invades normal structures near the tumor and spreads to other parts of the body. Metastasis is the spread of cancer beyond one location in the body.

Head and neck cancer

What kinds of cancers are considered cancers of the head and neck? Head and neck cancer includes cancers of the mouth, nose, sinuses, salivary glands, throat and lymph nodes in the neck. Most begin in te moist tissues that line the mouth, nose and thoat.

Head and neck cancer is often easily treatable if detected early, but often it is not. Treatment can include surgery, radiation and chemotherapy.

Possible symptoms of head and neck cancer

A lump in the neck that does not heal and continue to enlarge

A sore or swelling in the mouth that does not go away

Trouble swallowing

A change or hoarseness in the voice over 2 weeks

Blood in the saliva or phlegm for more than a few days

Persistent earache when swallowing

Changes in skin coloration and texture

It is important to note that the symptoms described here can occur with no cancer present, but having a thorough examination by an ENT physician can rule out any issues.

Head and neck cancer prevention tips

Stop smoking and reduce alcohol consumption. Use of tobacco and alcoholic beverages is the most common cause of cancers of the mouth, throat, voice box, and tongue

Live a healthy lifestyle to reduce the risks

See your doctor regularly for screening

The types of cancer that develop in children are often different from the types that develop in adults. Childhood cancers are often the result of DNA changes in cells that take place very early in life, sometimes even before birth.

Unfortunately, many of the causes and risk factors of childhood cancer are unknown.

Unlike adults, children do not have lifestyle risk factors such as tobacco exposure, poor diet, or other modifiable risk factors that could cause cancer.

The most common cancers in children are leukemia, brain and spinal cord cancer, bone cancers, Ewing’s sarcoma, neuroblastoma, Wilms tumor and lymphoma.

In very rare cases, children may even develop cancers that are much more common in adults.

Symptoms of cancer in children

Cancers in children are often hard to be recognized right away. Symptoms can overlap with much more common illnesses or injuries that leave bumps or bruises, masking the early signs of cancer.

Parents should watch for any unusual signs or symptoms that do not go away.

These include:

- An unusual lump or swelling

- Unexplained paleness and loss of energy

- Easy bruising

- An ongoing pain in one area of the body

- Limping

- Unexplained fever or illness that doesn’t go away

- Frequent headaches, often with vomiting

- Sudden unexplained weight loss

Importance of early detection

Today nearly 80 percent of children with cancer can be cured if detected early.

Children are our most precious resource. No child suffering from cancer should be left untreated.

Let’s help make sure that cancer does not get in the way of our children’s future.

The arrival of summer means days at the pool, family picnics and outing, basketball and other outdoor activities.

Here are some tips to keep your family fit and healthy in the warmer months.

Stay hydrated

Drink plenty of water before, during and after physical activity to avoid dehydration. For low-calorie flavor, add a slice of your favorite fruits such as melon, oranges, berries or even cucumber or mint to a pitcher of water and refrigerate for two hours.

Protect your family from the sun

Wear wide-brimmed hats, always apply water-resistant sunscreen with at least SPF15 and reapply sunscreen every 2 hours.

Heat safety

Avoid intense activities between noon and 3pm when the sun is at its strongest.

Dress for the heat

Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing. Choose light, breathable fabric such as cotton and wear sunglasses to protect your eyes.

Stay Indoors

When the heat gets unbearable, try indoor activities at your community recreation center like basketball, yoga or badminton.

Have fun and play safe

Supervise children at the pool. Children who don’t know how to swim must be required to wear life vest instead of “floats.” Always wear a life vest when in the lake or river, even if you know how to swim.

Avoid food poisoning

Food poisoning increases in the summer months because bacteria grow faster when the weather is warmer. Don’t eat food that has been left out for more than an hour.

Enjoy summer happening and be safe!

If you suffer sinusitis problem, you may now searching a sinus infection home remedies or any information that can help to solve your discomfort.

What is sinusitis?

According to the Mayo clinic website, sinusitis is an inflammation of the air-filled cavities, or sinuses, located around the nasal passages. Bacteria, viruses, and food and environmental allergies are causative factors for this common chronic condition characterized by headaches, facial pain and congestion.

Natural sinus infection home remedies that can be administered at home are often helpful in preventing recurrences and minimizing the severity of sinusitis. As with all therapies, consult a qualified health care practitioner to determine the most appropriate treatment.

Symptoms to look for:

• Excessive sneezing
• Nasal congestion
• Runny nose
• Headache
• Pressure around head, eyes and face
• Lack of appetite
• Low-grade fever
• Difficulty in breathing

Causes:

• Inflamed sinus causes mucus to collect resulting in bacterial growth

Here is a suggested sinus infection home remedies using herbs that are available at your herbal store near your home.

Sinus Infection Home Remedies Using Apple Cider Vinegar :

Apple cider vinegar is a hailed sinus infection treatment. Being just one of many apple cider vinegar uses, countless individuals attest to the effectiveness of apple cider vinegar against a multitude of health conditions, including sinus infection.

One of the most powerful ways to use ACV is:
1. Mix 8oz of warm water with 2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar
2. 1 tbsp of honey

The sinus infection could vanish within just a few days.

Another option when taking apple cider vinegar is to simply take 1 tablespoon 3 times daily, whether diluted to ingest throughout the day or made to ingest quickly. Lastly, you can also try steaming with apple cider vinegar; mix ~1/2 cup of ACV with 1/2 of water, heat it on the stove, and inhale the steam with mouth and eyes closed. I recommend using organic ACV over non-organic.

Sinus Infection Home Remedies Using Nasal Saline Rinse:

While the above remedies may suffice, a nasal saline rinse is also a very popular sinus infection treatment to store in your home remedies memory bank.

Saline Rinse Recipe
Ingredients & mixture:

1. Pickling or canning salt-containing no iodide, anti-caking agents or preservatives (these can be irritating to the nasal lining)
2. Baking soda
3. 8 ounces (1 cup) of lukewarm distilled or boiled water

In a clean container, mix 3 heaping teaspoons of iodide-free salt with 1 rounded teaspoon of baking soda and store in a small airtight container. Add 1 teaspoon of the mixture to 8 ounces (1 cup) of lukewarm distilled or boiled water.

Use less dry ingredients to make a weaker solution if burning or stinging are experienced. For children, use a half-teaspoon with 4 ounces of water.

If you have never done a nasal irrigation, or saline rinse before, ask someone who has for assistance or try following detailed directions here. It may not be the most comfortable of solutions, but a nasal saline rinse seems to continuously be passed down as one of the more effective sinus infection home remedies.

Natural home remedy using black cumin seeds:

1. Take a clean cloth
2. Add 1 tsp black cumin seeds
3. Wrap the cloth

The constant lack of sleep doesn’t just destroy your mood, it may also threaten your life.

What you must do

Functioning on six or fewer hours of sleep might be the norm for you, but consistently not getting enough z’s can affect your mood and your health. Here are four reasons to make an earlier bedtime a priority.

1. To avoid weight gain: You wake up groggy from lack of sleep and reach for some kind of edible pick-me-up. Chances are it’s sugary or high in fat, which means it’s high in calories. Fatigue encourages mindless snacking and more calories consumed, which can lead to an expanding waistline. That coupled with skipped workouts from lack of energy means even more weight gain. A foggy head can also impair your judgment, making you more likely to give in to cravings. If you’re trying to lose weight, getting enough sleep can make all the difference.

2. To prevent heart issues: Lack of sleep raises your blood pressure, putting unnecessary strain on your ticker, which puts you at risk for a heart attack or stroke.

3. To strengthen your immune system: Your body needs an adequate amount of downtime in order to function normally and to be able to fight illnesses. Getting about eight hours of sleep a night boosts your immune system and can reduce your risk of getting sick.

4. For a long life: Staying at a healthy weight, preventing heart problems, and having a strong immune system are all linked to living a longer life.
